My First Post Yipee!
[info]momiji_neyuki
For [info]bel0ved
The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me.
This offer does have some restrictions so please read:

*I make no guarantees that you will like what I make.
*What I create will be just for YOU & you are allowed to make requests (and I will try to honor them).
*It will be done before 2011.
*It might be cookies, a mix CD, a necklace, an original haiku, a scarf, who knows!
*You'll need to e-mail me your mailing address if you're one of the first 5.(Actually I think I'll make it 11, one for each month starting in Jan.)

In return, all you need to do is re-post this on your LJ (You don't have to, but it would be better if you did! good karma, you know) and offer to make 5 things for 5 other people(I'm just ambitious).

Last night I did something totally stupid
[info]gaerfindel
I sent a text message to my friend Dawn.

Dawn's been extremely busy, of late.  Her ex-mother-in-law (XMIL), a pushy broad at the best of times, has decided to make Dawn's life hell.  And all because; between seven children, their respective asshat fathers, and her own medical issues; she wasn't able to find time to attend the funeral for XMIL's husband.

Yup, A#1 bitch.

From what Dawn tells me, XMIL has promised to evict her from her current house.  So she's more than a tad busy trying to either prevent that, or finding someplace else to live.  Thus her advise to me:  "I have enough people calling me and blowing up my phone, Gaer.  So don't call me, okay?  Send an email if you feel the need to talk."

*headdesk*

She's supposed to call later today and throw the book at me.  I can't wait...

Have you ever walked off a job on the spot? What drove you to it? Did you regret it afterwards?

I was employed at a local Ralph Lauren outlet.  And by "local" I mean a 20min ride uphill on my bike to catch the bus, then 35-40min to my stop.  It was then roughly 6min walk from the bus stop to the store...a fact my stupidviser routinely "counciled" me about.

Not for very long, though.  Due to a clerical snafu, the store forget to send my info to district HQ and had to be resubmitted.  The result?  I didn't receive my first paycheck until five weeks after I started.

When I found out, I walked up to my stupidviser, saying, "I quit.  If this store is so incompetent as to lose my info, I have no interest in working here.  And none of my friends have any interest shopping here, either.  You have my home address; send my well-earned paychecks there."  I threw my crew t-shirt at his face and stormed off for the next bus home.  (I kept the khakis.  I look really good in them. <g>)
